Sarah Most began her referee journey at age 13 as a sideline ref and has since blossomed into a highly sought after referee in the Midwest region. She has participated in the Presidents Cup Regionals for the past three years, US Club Regionals for the past two years, and Presidents Cup Nationals in 2018. This year, she has been invited to referee National Premier Soccer League games, various regional events, and Salvo Soccer Club tournaments and games.
In 2017, at US Club Regionals, she was awarded the Rookie of the Year Award for the top first year referee participant. At 16 years old, she was assigned as the center referee for the U16 Boys Championship game at Presidents Cup Regionals. Assignments to these championship games are based on performance and assessments in the group play of these events. Sarah has also been assigned to multiple State Cup and Summer State Final games over the past several years. In 2017, she was MYSA and Region II Young Female Referee of the Year.
For the past five years, Sarah has been a participant of Salvo Soccer Club's Referee Mentor Program. For the past two years, she has mentored several young referees. "When I was given specific feedback when I started out refereeing, I realized that there was a path to get better, with resources and referees to help. Now, I’m really glad that I too can join and mentor other referees. It’s a cycle that allows us all to get better, then in turn help others get better," Most says of the program.
Sarah's passion and dedication to the sport of soccer is truly inspiring. Salvo Soccer Club is lucky to have Sarah as a part of our referee family.
